What Is Dysport?

Dysport is an injectable wrinkle treatment called a neurotoxin and is made from a purified form of botulinum toxin A. This product temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause lines and wrinkles, allowing the skin to gradually smooth out.

Candidates for Dysport

Women and men from Coeur d’Alene and Spokane should consider Dysport if they want to reduce fine lines and wrinkles in areas such as around the eyes and forehead. Candidates for Dysport do not have any serious medical conditions or allergies to any botulinum toxin product. Also, because the effects of Dysport on pregnancy are unknown, women who are or plan to become pregnant should wait until after pregnancy to receive treatment.

How Much Does Dysport Cost in Coeur d’Alene and Spokane?

Women and men visiting our Coeur d’Alene practice from Spokane and surrounding communities receive Dysport for $5.00 per unit. The cost of your treatment depends on how many units are needed to deliver the desired results. For example, treatment of the glabellar frown lines (the 11s) typically costs $300 with Dysport, although this can vary from person to person. You will be given a personalized quote when you come in for a consultation.

What Happens During Your Appointment?

Dysport injectors begin treatments by ensuring the target area is prepared. The injections themselves take only about 15 minutes. There is virtually no downtime, although you may notice some slight redness or swelling at the injection sites.

Dysport vs. Dermal Fillers

While they are both injectable facial rejuvenation treatments, Dysport and dermal fillers have their differences, including:

Dermal Fillers

• Work by adding volume under the wrinkle, fold, or hollow.
• Improvements are immediate.
• Results last as long as 1 to 2 years. (Sculptra even longer.)

Dysport vs. BOTOX® Cosmetic

Both Dysport and BOTOX belong to a class of injectables called neuromodulators. Each is derived from botulinum toxin and is similar in molecular structure and application. We have offered Dysport instead of BOTOX for more than 10 years for several reasons (including that our patients prefer it).

Some of the benefits of Dysport compared to BOTOX include:

• Earlier onset of results: Crow’s feet, glabellar lines (11s), and horizontal forehead lines are among the most common concerns Dysport treats, and you’ll typically notice improvement within 2 to 3 days after your injections. BOTOX usually takes about a week to see results.
• Better for larger areas: Dysport is injected deeper into the skin and spreads more easily than BOTOX, making it more effective for treating a broader area with fewer injections.
• Tends to last longer: Dysport’s protein is smaller than BOTOX’s, which can lead to longer-lasting results and fewer maintenance treatments.

How Long Does It Take To Recover From Dysport?

After treatment, patients can immediately return to their daily activities because there is no downtime needed. Avoid strenuous exercise and rubbing or putting pressure on the injection sites until the following day.

When Will I See My Results?

Many Advanced Aesthetics patients report that Dysport reduces the appearance of frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet within days, although patient experiences vary. In general, Dysport results emerge in 1 to 2 days; wrinkle smoothing continues for about 10 days.

How Long Will My Results Last?
