At What Age Should I Consider Dysport®?

Dr. Kevin Johnson’s Advanced Aesthetics

Dysport® is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed today. At my office, one question I often get is “Am I too young to consider a Dysport treatment?”
There is no magic age when a person suddenly could benefit from Dysport. Every person is different; some are genetically predisposed to develop wrinkles and lines earlier, while others may not experience wrinkles until later in life. It can be said that in general, it is very rare for women and men in their 20s to have enough wrinkling to warrant a Dysport treatment.
For those who are candidates for Dysport, my Spokane and Coeur d’Alene patients may see improvements in facial imperfections including:

  • Forehead creases
  • Crow’s feet”
  • Wrinkles by the eyes and nose

What’s more, Dysport treatments are fast and easy — typically lasting just 15 to 30 minutes, and women and men are able to return to their everyday activities immediately after. This makes the procedure a great option for women and men who are on-the-go and have little time to spare.
So put your age aside when thinking about Dysport — it really is just a number. Focus on whether you would like to improve or reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and whether those wrinkles are the type Dysport treats. For wrinkles on the lower part of the face, an injectable filler may be a better option.
What are your thoughts on Dysport? Have you considered the procedure?
