Our Idaho dermatology patients often want to know their options for vein removal, in particular with regard to varicose or spider veins. Varicose veins, located in the leg region, are large, blue and grey veins. Spider veins, typically in the legs and face, are small clusters of blue, purple or red veins near the skin’s surface.
Vein treatment options include:
Sclerotherapy- I inject a solution into the vein, which causes the blood vessel wall to collapse. After your sclerotherapy treatment, you will need to wear a compression garment for a short time.
Laser Vein Treatments- I use laser technology to remove unwanted veins. The laser, which I move over the targeted veins, focuses on the pigment in those veins.
In most cases, my patients receive the optimal results by having a series of treatments. They tell me that they love the cleaner look of their skin.
What do you think? Which vein therapies have you heard of or tried?
