Liposuction - Arms / Axillary Before & After Case 6

This patient is a vibrant 62 year old former teacher and local author, married with two children in the process of getting her latest book published. She asked for evaluation of multiple areas mostly consisting of unwanted fat and significant skin laxity which was verified on physical examination. She also noted varicose veins on her leg. On exam, her right arm was also half an inch larger than her left arm. Nearly always we see asymmetry in patient’s bodies. The patient underwent Smartlipo body sculpting on her arms. After placing the tumescent anesthetic under the skin of both arms, the Smartlipo laser was extensively used to heat the skin to 40 degrees C creating excellent skin tightening. The patient was able to notice immediate tightening and ongoing tightening for the next 6 months. These before and after pictures were taken before the procedure, and then 4 months after the procedure. Her arm measurements are now identical. The patient is pleased with the result and is now more confident in wearing short and sleeveless clothing. As an alternative, we had a long discussion preoperatively about the surgical option of a brachioplasty (which we do not perform) that would require an incision from her underarm to the elbow leaving a long and usually unattractive scar. The patient is glad she chose Smartlipo. She went on to have Smartlipo on her neck and jowls with a similarly excellent result.
