SmartLipo laserlypolysis is one of the fastest growing cosmetic procedures in Idaho as well as across the U.S. because it is one of the first laser assisted liposuction procedures that effectively destroys and permanently eliminates unwanted fat cells. Manufactured by Cynosure and available right here at Advanced Aesthetics, the SmartLipo device uses laser light to melt and destroy fat cells, making it far less invasive than the traditional liposuction procedure.

While any candidate for SmartLipo can see fat reduction results, the ideal candidate is within 25 lbs of their ideal weight and is merely looking to tone and shape their body. SmartLipo works to target small areas of localized fat deposits, especially those areas that fail to respond to diet and exercise alone. Those Coeur d'Alene residents who need to lose a significant amount of fat may not achieve satisfactory results and might see more effective results with traditional liposuction. Before choosing SmartLipo as your fat reduction alternative, it is important to first learn how the procedure works.

Treatments with SmartLipo are similar to traditional liposuction in that a tumescent solution is injected under the skin in the area to be treated. Tumescent fluid is comprised of a special solution of saline, anesthetic and epinephrine used to assist in numbing the treatment site. It also minimizes bleeding, decreases bruising and aides in the removal of the liquefied fat. Once the skin is infused with this solution, an optical fiber attached to a very small cannula (wand-like tube), is then inserted under the skin in the area to be treated.

Once inserted, the tip of the cannula or probe is passed over the treatment area in a fan-like motion and is touched to the fat cells causing them to rupture and liquefy. Once liquefied, the fat is then easily suctioned away. While undergoing treatment, the laser also helps to coagulate blood vessels and stimulate collagen to contract and tighten the skin. This allows patients at Advanced Aesthetics to experience the full results of a liposuction treatment, without as much bleeding, bruising, pain or downtime.

Because smaller areas are generally treated with SmartLipo, this treatment is considered minimally invasive and therefore can be done under local anesthesia or IV sedation. A minimally invasive procedure also means faster results with fewer complications for Idaho patients.

Once the procedure is completed, a pressure garment may be applied to help decrease swelling. Because of the treatments minimally invasive nature, most normal activities can be resumed in as little as 24 hours. Immediate results will be noticed by patients, however the best results are usually seen in 6-8 weeks; this allows for a full reduction in swelling. SmartLipo is ideal for localized pockets of unwanted fat or areas that have been resistant to natural fat reduction methods such as diet and exercise. In addition, the dimpling, rippling, bumps and pockets that have often been associated with traditional liposuction outcomes are generally not seen with the SmartLipo procedure.

When visiting Advanced Aesthetics for the SmartLipo treatment, patients will find that this procedure is not a method of weight loss, it is simply a way to remove stubborn pockets of unwanted fat that will not respond to other fat reduction methods. If SmartLipo seems like the right fat reduction treatment for you, visit Advanced Aesthetics today and find out how you can get the body shape you've always wanted.
