Laser Therapy

At Advanced Aesthetics, we take vein removal seriously, which is why we offer an array of vein therapy treatments, one of which includes laser vein removal. Visible, unwanted veins on the face and body can be not only embarrassing, but can also cause side effects that can leave individuals in constant pain. Over the years, many vein removal treatments have been developed, but several were highly invasive, required ample downtime, caused major side effects and left patients with permanent scarring. As technology has advanced however, new vein removal treatments have been developed that can safely and effectively remove unwanted veins with exceptional results.

Before undergoing laser vein removal, it is first important to know if your unwanted veins can be successfully treated. There are two distinct types of veins that can be removed, these include spider veins and varicose veins. Spider veins are those distinctively small blue, red or purplish lines, most commonly found on the face and legs, which are very apparent and difficult to cover up. Caused by factors such as sun damage, trauma, certain medications or genetics, these veins are more embarrassing than troublesome and fortunately can be treated relatively easily.

Varicose veins are larger, deeper superficial veins that are found on the legs and tend to bulge from the surface of the skin. Varicose veins form as a result of a venous defect involving the valves within the veins. The valves become compromised or damaged which ends up allowing blood to reflux back into the vein causing swelling. Over time the expanding vein gravitates toward the surface of the skin, resulting in a bluish wormlike appearance. Varicose veins develop for a number of reasons including heredity, gender, hormones, trauma, weight, prolonged standing and venous disorders.

Many vein removal treatments are used today, but at Advanced Aesthetics, one of the most popular is laser vein removal. During the treatment, the laser is passed over the veins being treated, the laser light passed through the outer layers of skin and is attracted to the pigment or color of the veins below. The laser energy transforms into heat which cauterizes the blood supply to the vein. Once the vein is no longer supplied with blood, it will be absorbed back into the body, leaving your skin smooth and vein free.

Laser vein removal treatments are best used on those who have unwanted spider veins. For large, bulging veins such as varicose veins, more intense laser vein removal treatments such as EVLT treatments are needed. EVLT treatments utilize laser energy to treat the veins from the inside out. Oftentimes, EVLT is also used in conjunction with EVLT to remove excess veins that reside at the skins surface.

Successful removal of veins with laser can help those Coeur d'Alene men and women to finally experience freedom from their unwanted veins. Depending on the severity of your veins, or the area in which they reside, several laser treatments may be needed in order to treat all of them. However once your unwanted veins are successfully treated, they will never return.
