Filler Removal / Reversal

Dermal filler removal and reversal treatments are a great way for Coeur d’ Alene men and women to correct any treatment mistakes.  In this day and age, cosmetic procedures are available in a variety of places and settings, and oftentimes individuals who undergo a treatment believing they are getting a good deal, end up with unsatisfactory results.  Today, there are many remedies available to reverse unsatisfactory treatments, those men and women who have undergone treatment to enhance facial features with dermal fillers can now rely on dermal filler removal or reversal treatments to correct any mistakes.  At Advanced Aesthetics, we take our dermal filler procedures very seriously, however we know that other area aesthetic facilities do not provide the same caliber of treatment.  If you have undergone treatments with dermal fillers and are unhappy with the results, know that we have a simple and fast acting treatment that can help.

Patients undergo dermal filler treatments in order to enhance facial features and minimize the visible signs of aging such as wrinkles and fine lines.  At Advanced Aesthetics, we use a variety of fillers depending on which area you are interested in treating.  Most often, patients will treat fine lines and wrinkles on the face and enhance facial features such as the cheeks and lips.  Unfortunately, dermal filler treatments do not always go as expected.  Patients may experience a reaction to the dermal filler, or they may experience over enhancement of the facial area.  No matter what may  have gone wrong, know that at Advanced Aesthetics, we have the ability to rectify it.

The medication that we utilize for removal of most dermal fillers is known as Vitrase™ or hyaluronidase. Vitrase™ is a genetically designed enzyme that is used as an aid to help your body naturally absorb other injected medications.  Known to many as the ‘mistake corrector’, patients often visit our office with lumps or bumps on their faces due to fillers that were improperly administered by other physicians.  When injected improperly, dermal fillers can create features that are over-enhance or asymmetrical, and can cause lumps and bumps in the treated area.  Our filler removal and reversal treatments can help.

During the procedure, our physician will inject the filler removal into the same area that the dermal filler was injected.  The enzyme will work quickly to dissolve the dermal fillers that had been previously injected (most often results will be seen within 24 hours).  While patients will often return to normal after one treatment, sometimes several are needed in order to fully correct the imperfections.  While this treatment is both fast and safe, patients do sometimes experience side effects.  Often, slight bleeding is experienced after the  needle has been injected into the skin.  Others may experience mild bruising, redness or swelling around the injection site.  It can take 2 to 3 days for side effects to vanish completely, but most often these side effects are short lived.

Patients will rarely experience allergic reactions to Vitrase™, however it can happen.  Allergic reactions can include prolonged redness, swelling, itching or hardness to the skin.  If these symptoms persist, contact us immediately. Vitrase™ or hyaluronidase can safely and effectively correct mistakes made with many dermal fillers, however it is important to know that it does not work on errors made with Cosmoderm, Cosmoplast, or Radiesse.  If you are unhappy with dermal filler results, contact us at Advanced Aesthetics today and get fast and easy filler removal results.
